General description of system
MG-ALFA is Milliman's financial modelling solution and actuarial projection system for insurance companies. It models both insurance liabilities and assets and offers full ALM functionality for integrated financial projections. Companies use MG-ALFA to stochastically model complex product features and to deliver sophisticated risk management analytics to senior management.
Functions performed
MG-ALFA is used for ALM, capital modelling, embedded values, pricing, profitability analysis and ERM. It offers exceptional stochastic and nested stochastic capabilities and provides the speed and capacity to run advanced analysis in real time. These capabilities allow MG-ALFA clients to quantify the effects of changing reserve and capital requirements today. It also offers a variety of grid options so clients can create the infrastructure that best suits their budget and financial modelling needs.
Specific Solvency II features
The MG-ALFA database contains extensive Solvency II internal and standard model analytics, including liability, asset, investment and disinvestment. Its stochastic and nested stochastic projection capabilities enable compliance with Solvency II analytic requirements, as well as audit and control functionalities.
Specifications
MG-ALFA is a desktop application that offers threading, distributed computing, and grid processing options. Business logic is open to the user and is written in an intuitive syntax that allows for ease of use and customization. It does not require programming skills.

MG-ALFA is supported by Milliman's local consultants. It is constantly upgraded to be regulatory compliant, embedding Milliman's combined experience in actuarial systems and insurance.
