Specific Solvency II features
The Quadrant solution contains a hard physical structured data model target to store the enterprise data required for insurance business performance analysis and Solvency II. However, we supply domain consultancy advice as well as a transparent technology solution and this is essential to cover Pillar II aspects of Solvency II such as regulatory review issues and transparency of the use test.
Quadrant can also supply suitably qualified quantitative analysts and modellers experienced in different analytic modelling tools to help create the internal analytical models that use the data stored in the Quadrant Intelligence Centre to resolve the complex risk issues related to Solvency II.
Quadrant also partners with Microstrategy to supply reporting technologies for the analysis and presentation of results by and to end-users.
Specifications
The Quadrant solution is an open platform that can use any of the technology choices made by prospective clients in terms of hardware platforms, database, ETL and middleware, analytical engines and visualisation tools. This maintains the client's current investments in technology and reduces the total cost of ownership of the solution.
The solution can be installed on any type of RDBMS servers, application servers and client desktops in any architecture that can support the load placed upon the system. Normally a technical architecture study is done with the client to suggest the best practical way forward given any existing client technical infrastructure. Installation is simple and is normally carried out by IT staff with our technical and domain consultants to ensure knowledge transfer takes place.
The Quadrant solution is an industrial-strength solution that can scale from the very small to the very large based on requirements.
Licensing/sales/support
Licensing Structure
The licensing structure follows a conventional model:
- For the Quadrant financial information model one or more licence payments for the intellectual property in the physical information model. A modular approach can be adopted depending on clients' particular requirements
- Support and maintenance is a percentage of the licence price and in the case of the information model takes on a consultancy-based approach when required to customize or upgrade parts of the information model.
- Software infrastructure products - e.g. ETL tools, case (data modelling) tools, visualisation and reporting tools can be supplied in conjunction with our partners. There is normally a one-off licence fee for a number of users, or CPUs or servers, together with support and maintenance as above.
Implementation of the Solution
The Quadrant solution usually requires a consultancy-led project for the initial phase to help with the implementation of the solution. Quadrant and their partners can supply qualified business and technology consultants who implement a knowledge transfer program to the client to ensure that they can take on more of the work as time goes by and operate their own solution. Quadrant and their implementation partners work in a virtual team with the client to ensure the success of the project and the solution going forward. It is a journey where Quadrant and their partners become "trusted advisors."
