Tim Breedon appointed ABI chair
Tim Breedon, group CEO of Legal & General, will be the next chairman of the Association of British Insurers (ABI). Breedon will take over from Archie Kane in July; Kane has been chairman for three years.
In a statement, Breedon said he will become chairman at a vital time for the industry. "We face major challenges from regulators and governments, particularly in ensuring insurance is not treated as banking, but I am confident that the ABI will continue to engage constructively in the important debates still to come."
Breedon has been a member of the ABI board since 2007 and group CEO of Legal & General since 2006.
