Pacific Life Re has been named Bermuda-based reinsurer of the year at the InsuranceERM Americas awards 2026 after a year in which the company combined global expansion, product innovation and disciplined execution across its business lines.

By the end of 2025, the Bermuda-headquartered reinsurer had established itself as a truly diversified global player, supporting almost 2,000 treaties across 18 countries, reinsuring approximately $975bn of life insurance in force and covering 15m lives.

A standout feature of the year was the continued growth of the savings and retirement business. Pacific Life Re delivered more than 60 quotes across markets including the UK, continental Europe, North America, Asia and Australia, demonstrating its ability to operate effectively across multiple regulatory environments. The company secured several new clients in Europe, including a landmark €1.3bn ($1.5bn) transaction with A.S.R. Nederland, while also strengthening its position in Japan through new flow agreements.

The business also enhanced its asset capabilities, enabling more competitive and tailored solutions for clients while maintaining robust governance and risk management.

Meanwhile, Pacific Life Re's Capital Solutions completed a strong first full year, originating and pricing bespoke transactions across 15 markets.

The judges praised Pacific Life Re for combining scale with innovation and maintaining a clear focus on long-term partnerships. They noted that the company had successfully expanded its global footprint while preserving the disciplined risk culture expected of a leading Bermuda reinsurer.

Through sustained investment in technology, broadening international reach and a growing ability to deliver bespoke solutions, Pacific Life Re demonstrated why it stands among the most dynamic and strategically important life reinsurers operating from Bermuda today.
