Top of the class: InsuranceERM reveals 2025 Asia Pacific award winners

11 December 2025

The prestigious winners of InsuranceERM's Asia Pacific awards 2025 have been announced.

These awards recognise insurers, teams, initiatives and vendors that are leaders in risk management, risk modelling and risk technology tools in the Asia Pacific region.

Deng Gichuru, chief risk officer and company secretary at Westfund Health Insurance in Australia scooped the CRO of the year award for redefining the role of the CRO within Australia's mutual and private health insurance sector, and by demonstrating how the risk function can contribute to strategy, innovation and member value.

Japan's Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company achieved the climate risk initiative of the year. Its holistic, data-driven and collaborative approach to reducing climate-related risks set it apart from its rivals.

Milliman won this year's actuarial modelling solution of the year for its Milliman Mind platform, which is being used in Asia and across the world.

WTW secured the double by winning ALM solution of the year and IFRS 17 solution of the year.

The awards also recognised Resolution Life, which won the funded reinsurance provider of the year.

InsuranceERM's deputy editor and commercial editor, Ronan McCaughey, commented: "Congratulations to our outstanding Asia Pacific award winners. Seeing your work recognised is a real highlight for the team and I each year. My heartfelt thanks also to our judges for giving their time and wisdom so generously."

How the awards were judged

An independent panel of insurance risk management experts based in Asia Pacific reviewed the entries and then voted in a secret ballot. The votes were counted and verified by InsuranceERM's team.

The judges were selected for their independence, knowledge and objectivity. Their decision is final and neither InsuranceERM nor the judging panel will enter into any correspondence regarding individual entries and/or the award winners.
