Moody's Risk Data Lake and Risk Data Vault was introduced in 2025 and integrated within the firm's Intelligent Risk Platform and help re/insurers unlock their risk data's potential by streamlining workflows, integrating diverse datasets, and delivering advanced analytics.

A large reinsurer was able to deploy Moody's cloud technology solution to enhance its efficiency in validating key models, including processing of 4.6bn rows of location-level model results, amounting to 250 gigabytes in size.

An Insurtech business was meanwhile able to reduce its end-to-end process from 3 hours to just 5 minutes, demonstrating Moody's Risk Data Lake and Risk Data Vault's ability to crunch large volumes of work seamlessly and quickly.

Unlike traditional data lakes that require extensive IT resources, Moody's Risk Data Lake is embedded within the platform's centralised data layer, offering instant access to key analytics applications, such as ExposureIQ.
