Liberty Mutual has released a conversational motor insurance quoting application, which allows ChatGPT users to obtain a quote from the insurer in minutes.
Rather than using a traditional online form, ChatGPT users can secure auto insurance through a chat-based AI interaction.
Quotes are available via the app in ChatGPT for drivers in Arizona, Kentucky, Ohio, Missouri, New Mexico, Utah and Wisconsin, with the insurer noting that it plans to offer conversational AI quoting in over 40 states by the year-end.
Tyler Asher, Liberty Mutual chief distribution and marketing officer at US Retail Markets, said: “Consumers have more choice than ever in how they choose to shop, including emerging channels like conversational AI and large language model (LLM) platforms.”
Several companies are looking to diversify their distribution channels, with Ergo Next launching on TikTok to offer insurance platform sellers, and MoneySuperMarket launching a price comparison service with ChatGPT.
