The prestigious winners of InsuranceERM's climate risk and sustainability awards 2025 have been revealed.
These awards recognise insurers, teams, initiatives and vendors that are leaders in climate risk management.
Bruno Gardner, head of climate change and nature at UK life insurer Phoenix, won the climate and sustainability champion accolade for his great advocacy on climate action.
kWh Analytics was crowned sustainable re/insurer of the year for its innovative approach to insuring solar and wind energy projects that advances risk management, pricing and product development – as well as facilitating the shift to clean energy sources.
FIS's Climate Risk Financial Modeler, meanwhile, clinched the climate risk modelling award for enabling businesses to analyse a range of different climatic impacts using multiple climate scenarios to determine future losses.
Allspring Global Investments won the new transition risk management excellence award for its Climate Transition Framework (CTF) that helps insurers align their fixed income investment programmes with net-zero goals.
InsuranceERM's deputy editor and commercial editor, Ronan McCaughey, commented: "Thank you to the independent panel of judges for their time, effort and expertise in reviewing all the submissions. How the awards were judged
An independent panel of climate risk and sustainability experts in the insurance industry reviewed the entries and then voted in a secret ballot. The votes were counted and verified by InsuranceERM's team.
The judges were selected for their, independence, knowledge and objectivity. Their decision is final and neither InsuranceERM nor the judging panel will enter into any correspondence regarding individual entries and/or the award winners.
